Family
Our family means the world to us; whether large or small, our family provides the rock foundation for our life. Of course, even if our family is ‘dysfunctional’, we will always love them and sincerely appreciate what they gave us. As our family grows, the ‘issues’ become more complicated and our relationships may become strained. This is why our time together is so valuable and our appreciation of our time together grows as well.
Everyone knows family photos are cherished; they can be taken as traditional posed portraits, lifestyle or documentary. Traditional posed portraits are when we are nicely posed and arranged for the camera. Documentary style photos are when the photographer captures moments of life as they unfold similar to photojournalism. Lifestyle family portraits can be said to be a bit of a blend of the two where they are contrived or directed and then moments can be captured from what unfolds. Documentary and lifestyle will show context and allow the viewer to imagine a bit of a story rather than just showing a head and shoulders of the person without much environmental context.
